Pots, Glassware, Stone and Beer: Lambeth’s Lost Industry (virtual tour only)

If you look along the Lambeth front of the Thames today you see the Royal Festival Hall, the London Eye, County Hall and down to the MI6 building by Vauxhall Bridge amongst others.

There's no hint of the pot houses, boat-making yards, machine shops, glass factories, and brewers that crowded the marshy banks for around two hundred years. And from these marshes emerged world famous products such as Eleanor Coade's stone, Lambeth delftware, Royal Doulton ceramics and Lion beer.

Richard's virtual tour explores the fascinating story of this lost industry, why it was attracted to that location and shows some striking signs of remains today.
